Organisation Tips: Secondary School

Hello Everybody,

Recently in my life I have been getting a lot more organised. Be this in school, home or life in general I have improved a lot! However, this post will be aimed at people my age in secondary school, but you can adapt this to any type of education: primary school, college, university, etc. Without further ado, let's begin!

1. Pack your bag the night before school
I was first introduced to this idea by my mum a few years ago. Originally, I thought that it was a ridiculous idea, so I never did it, but recently I started doing it and it has saved me heaps of time in the mornings. I normally put in my exercise books, pencil case, planner, purse and house keys in first an I leave out a few things in the mornings. The things I leave out are: my homework, lip balm, phone and my ring.

2. Do your homework straight away
When you're in secondary school, you get tons of homework! I get roughly three pieces of homework a day. I have figured that the best way to conquer this is by doing your homework straight away. This has proven to be a good technique because if I did my homework that day it would be fresh in my mind and I would completely understand what I was meant to be doing.

3. Perfect your morning routine
If your morning routine is a bit willy nilly, then you will most probably be late for school, (that is for me anyway!). But, if you are that sort of girl who glides through life all glossy hair and A* grades, then you are sure to have a morning routine that gets you out the door on time. If not, then it might be worth sorting it out. I would come up with what you do in the morning, and how long it takes you, and then you can set your alarm accordingly. That's always a great start!

4. Prepare your outfit the night before
Another time saver, is to prepare your outfit the night before. This helps you because if any of your uniform was to not be in your draw you could sort it out then so you still had it. Another reason is that you won't have to worry about faffing around and rummaging through your wardrobe for your 'much loved' uniform. This just means you can get changed super quickly and it takes half the time than if you weren't to get the clothes ready.

5. Note down any information that is important
During lessons, sometimes you will receive important information about upcoming assessments and just general importantness. To help with this, it might be worth investing in a diary or planner. I jab the Sprinkle of Glitter 2016 diary that helps me organise my school life and this really helps. This comes in especially handy when you have a revision lesson and you need to note down information about a certain topic that you are unsure on.

There you have it, I hope you found this helpful and you can use it to help you progress in your organisation too! Thank you so so much for reading, see you next week!

Until Another Day,
Libby xx

P.s  I am really sorry that there are no photos, the App Store got rid of the Blogger app, so I can't add photos. If anyone can let me know how to add photos from my phone then let me know.

Book Review: A Monster Calls By Patrick Ness

Hello Everybody,

Today I am going to experiment. I am going to try something new. I am going to write a book review for you.

Recently, I have just finished a book called 'A Monster Calls' by Patrick Ness. Originally, I didn't really feel like I would enjoy it. It was in my English class when I picked it up off the bookshelf, and looked at it. Someone then said to me:
"Oh Libby, I've read that book, it has a really sad ending,"
Great, I thought. I don't like books with a sad ending, I just feel miserable. But this book, I feel like the ending was touched on quite delicately. That's why I enjoyed it so much.

This book is about a young 13 year old boy called Conor. Conor's mum has cancer. Conor copes fine on his own, he does the cooking, washing, cleaning and he takes care of his mum. But much worse things are happening. He's getting bullied. Not only that, but one mysterious night, a monster comes calling by a yew tree, close by to his house. This monster gives Conor a choice. Conor can either tell him the truth, or be eaten alive. But what will Conor do when he is forced to live with his Grandma, his dad suddenly comes to visit him from America, the bullies are getting worse and his mum's life is on the brink of ending?

I like this book because it teaches you a message. Never feel as though you're invisible, never feel blinded by what's wrong and what's right. My favourite character is the monster because although he's stubborn and ugly, he has a kind heart, and can always sense the truth. I would rate this book a solid 9/10.

So there you have it, something a little different. I hope this inspires you to read the book, I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend giving it a read if you have the time! Thanks again for reading, have a lovely week!

Until Another Day,
Libby xx
